Dr. Samantha Du,
Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Vice President, Chi-Med; and Managing Director, Hutchison MediPharma

Dr. Du joined Hutchison China in June 2001 as Senior Vice President and has since led all aspects of development and management of the company's R&D strategy. In 2002, she gained HWL's approval for the establishment of Hutchison MediPharma and has built up the company to over 70 employees. Dr. Du has led the advancement of two Phase II US clinical trials; the establishment of a rich discovery portfolio in less than three years; and establishment of strategic alliances with world leading research institutions and companies. Dr. Du is a well-recognised leader in the R&D arena in China through her advisory roles to various government bodies. Dr. Du started her research career at Pfizer's global R&D site in Connecticut, in the US, and led teams that delivered multiple INDs and NDAs for various anti-infective, cardiovascular, and metabolic medicines. Her last role at Pfizer was in the Global Strategic Operations Group, where she was in charge of licensing and related mergers and acquisitions activities in the metabolic disease area.

Dr. Du received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Cincinnati, in the US, and her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Molecular Biology and Chemistry from Jilin University, China.

Dr. Carlos Yi
Chief Operating Officer

Dr. Yi has been Chief Operating Officer of Chi-Med since 2007. He is also the General Manager of Hutchison Healthcare Ltd. Dr. Yi worked for Hutchison Whampoa (China) Ltd. (“HWCL”) from 1991 to 2003. During this time Dr. Yi held the positions of: Deputy General Manager, Procter & Gamble China, (a HWCL joint venture); General Manager, Cascade Trading Ltd. (a start-up company responsible for the import and distribution of P&G products in China); and General Manager for Investment where he was responsible for various HWCL hi-tech investments in China and the United States.

Prior to joining Hutchison, Dr. Yi spent 20 years on Wall Street operating a successful management consulting company serving the banking and financial communities. He was also co-founder and advisor to several companies in the New York and San Francisco Bay areas and played an active role in the Silicon Valley technical community.

Dr. Yi graduated top of class with a B. Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph. D in Computing and Engineering both from Imperial College, London

Mr. Peter Lee
Vice President, Finance and Administration

Mr. Lee Kwok Ming, Peter, joined the company as Vice President, Finance & Administration since 2007.

Prior to joining Chi-Med, Mr. Lee was the General Manager, Finance & Administration, of the German Medical & Pharmaceutical Group, B.Braun, where, for about 10 years he led the functions of the Finance & Accounting, I.T. & Supply Chain for the markets of China & HK. During this time, he held a directorship in B. Braun’s China joint venture pharmaceutical company located in Shenyang, and was the Chief Representative for the China offices in Guangzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan & Xian.

Mr. Lee is an Associate Member of both the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK. He holds a masters degree in business administration from the University of Stirling, UK.

Ms. Sue Pei
General Manager, Investments

Ms. Pei has been with Hutchison China since 1992, and has been involved in various investment projects in China. These include ports, infrastructure, property, hotel, agriculture, and healthcare. Ms. Pei has served as General Manager of Hutchison China's Shenyang Time Plaza Hotel and Heilongjiang Hutchison Agriculture Development Company. She received a Bachelor's degree in English from Yanjing Overseas Chinese University and a Master's degree in Management studies from the University of Oxford.

Mr. Michael Leung
Senior Investment Manager

Mr. Leung has spent over ten years in investment projects in China, across different places and industries.

Mr. Leung joined Hopewell Holdings Limited in 1994, involved in investing, building and operating infrastructure projects in China, including toll roads and power plants. Michael gained extensive China experience through the daily operation of these projects and successfully helped these sino-foreign joint ventures to gain access to funding from foreign banks and overseas investors.

In 2000, Mr. Leung joined Hutchison China and he was involved in structuring several direct investment projects in China. From early 2004, Mr. Leung was heavily involved in the Hutchison Baiyunshan joint venture project. He was one of the leading team members who initiated the project feasibility study, went through the contract negotiation, established the joint venture and provided continuous support to the operation of it.

Mr. Leung holds a First Class Honours degree in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University, Canada and received his MBA from the University of British Columbia, Canada.

Dr. Junjie Zhou
General Manager
Shanghai Hutchison Pharmaceuticals

Dr. Zhou joined Shanghai Hutchison Pharmaceuticals in 2001. Prior to this, Dr. Zhou worked for Sanofi Synthelabo for over ten years rising from a Sales Representative to National Sales Director for China. Dr. Zhou holds an MBA from China Europe International Business School ("CEIBS") and a Master's degree in Medicine from Xian Medical University, China.

Mr. Chuyuan Li
General Manager, Hutchison Baiyunshan

Mr. Li joined Hutchison Baiyunshan in 2005 as the General Manager. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Li held senior management positions in Guangzhou Baiyunshan, a company listed on the Shenzhen Stock exchange, China during which time Mr. Li held the roles of Director of Sales, Deputy Operations Manager, and Deputy General Manager. Mr. Li received a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Zhongshan University, China.

Ms. Yuan Zhao
Investment Manager

Ms. Zhao joined Hutchison China in 2004. Since then, she has been assisting the Group on generating and evaluating merger and acquisition opportunities in China across different industrial sectors, including pharmaceuticals and consumer goods.

Prior to joining Hutchison, Ms. Zhao was a senior management consultant in MBP Consulting of US and PA Consulting of UK. She had advised many blue-chip multinationals on the formulation and implementation of their China market strategy and helped them in handling government affairs.

Ms. Zhao holds an MBA from Cranfield University's School of Management in UK. She also holds two bachelor degrees, in Diplomacy and English respectively, from Foreign Affairs University in Beijing, China.
