Mr. Christian Hogg
Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, Chi-Med

Mr Hogg, aged 44, has been an Executive Director and the Chief Executive Officer since 2006. He is also a member of the Technical Committee and the Complaints Committee of the Company. He joined Hutchison China in 2000 and has since led all aspects of the creation, implementation and management of the Company's strategy, business and listing. This includes the creation of the Company's start-up businesses and the acquisition and operational integration of assets that led to the formation of the Company's China joint ventures.

Prior to joining Hutchison China, Mr Hogg spent ten years with P&G starting in the US in Finance and then Brand Management in the Laundry and Cleaning Products Division. Mr Hogg then moved to China to manage P&G's detergent business followed by a move to Brussels to run P&G's global bleach business. Mr Hogg received a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Edinburgh and an MBA from the University of Tennessee.

 

Dr. Samantha Du,
Chief Scientific Officer, Chi-Med and Chief Executive Officer, Hutchison MediPharma

Dr. Du is the CEO of Hutchison Medipharma Limited (HMPL) and Chief Scientific Officer of Chi-Med. Dr. Du joined Hutchison Whampoa China Limited (HWCL) in 2001 as Executive VP -- Healthcare Investments and was one of the founders of Chi-Med. She played a key role in the successful IPO of Hutchison Chi-Med in London in May 2006. With the financial backing of HWCL, Dr. Du founded Hutchison Medipharma in 2002.

Dr. Du received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from University of Cincinnati. Prior to Hutchison, she was in Pfizer’s global strategic operation division responsible for global licensing and related M&A activities for metabolic diseases. She started her research career at Pfizer Connecticut and led teams that involved in multiple early and late stage product development in different therapeutic areas and two successful product launches. She is currently an active advisor on healthcare and biotech issues for various government agencies and research institutions in China.

 

Mr. Johnny Cheng
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Cheng joined the company in July 2008 as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Chi-Med, he was the Vice President, Finance of Bristol Myers Squibb in China and held directorships in their joint venture and holding companies in Shanghai.

Mr. Cheng started his career as an auditor with Price Waterhouse in Australia and then KPMG in Beijing before spent 8 years with Nestle China where he was in charge of a number of finance and control functions in various operations including Milks and Infant Nutrition business for Greater China, Coffee & Culinary manufacturing in Dongguan and Grocery business in Hong Kong. Mr. Cheng received a Bachelor of Economics, Accounting Major from the University of Adelaide and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

 

Mr. Ole Walter
Commercial Director - Consumer Products Division

Mr. Walter joined the company in July 2009 as Marketing Director.

Prior to joining Chi-Med, he was in the Schwarzkopf & Henkel HQ Marketing Department commercially responsible for an international portfolio of cosmetic brands. Prior to that he held legal and corporate functions within the Henkel Group dealing with intellectual property, licensing and M&A matters. Mr. Walter started his career as a legal advisor with the EU and Competition practice of Arthur Andersen in Germany.

Mr. Walter holds an MBA from Kellogg Northwestern School of Management & WHU, USA and a law degree from the University of Cologne in Germany.

 

Mr. Michael Leung
Deputy General Manager - Business Development

Mr. Leung has spent over ten years in investment projects in China, across different places and industries.

Mr. Leung joined Hopewell Holdings Limited in 1994, involved in investing, building and operating infrastructure projects in China, including toll roads and power plants. Michael gained extensive China experience through the daily operation of these projects and successfully helped these sino-foreign joint ventures to gain access to funding from foreign banks and overseas investors.

In 2000, Mr. Leung joined Hutchison China and he was involved in structuring several direct investment projects in China. From early 2004, Mr. Leung was heavily involved in the Hutchison Baiyunshan joint venture project. He was one of the leading team members who initiated the project feasibility study, went through the contract negotiation, established the joint venture and provided continuous support to the operation of it.

Mr. Leung holds a First Class Honours degree in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University, Canada and received his MBA from the University of British Columbia, Canada.

 

Dr. Junjie Zhou
General Manager
Shanghai Hutchison Pharmaceuticals

Dr. Zhou joined Shanghai Hutchison Pharmaceuticals in 2001. Prior to this, Dr. Zhou worked for Sanofi Synthelabo for over ten years rising from a Sales Representative to National Sales Director for China. Dr. Zhou holds an MBA from China Europe International Business School ("CEIBS") and a Master's degree in Medicine from Xian Medical University, China.

 

Mr. Chuyuan Li
General Manager, Hutchison Baiyunshan

Mr. Li joined Hutchison Baiyunshan in 2005 as the General Manager. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Li held senior management positions in Guangzhou Baiyunshan, a company listed on the Shenzhen Stock exchange, China during which time Mr. Li held the roles of Director of Sales, Deputy Operations Manager, and Deputy General Manager. Mr. Li received a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Zhongshan University, China.

 

Ms. Yuan Zhao
Investment Manager

Ms. Zhao joined Hutchison China in 2004. Since then, she has been assisting the Group on generating and evaluating merger and acquisition opportunities in China across different industrial sectors, including pharmaceuticals and consumer goods.

Prior to joining Hutchison, Ms. Zhao was a senior management consultant in MBP Consulting of US and PA Consulting of UK. She had advised many blue-chip multinationals on the formulation and implementation of their China market strategy and helped them in handling government affairs.

Ms. Zhao holds an MBA from Cranfield University's School of Management in UK. She also holds two bachelor degrees, in Diplomacy and English respectively, from Foreign Affairs University in Beijing, China.
